At DrChrono we aim to provide frequent updates because we know provider needs continue to grow as well. This last month we have been hard at work on many features, and we are excited to announce some new features in this month’s edition of our product newsletter.
Here’s what’s included in this month’s product update:
iOS 12 Compatibility – experience all new features of iOS 12 with DrChrono EHR
Push notifications for OnPatient – send various push notifications to your patient to keep better contact.
Duo Mobile – our new token provider for Electronic Prescribing of Controlled Substances (EPCS) in DrChrono.
iOS 12 is here – DrChrono EHR is ready for it
Apple had a keynote just last week that was live streamed from the Steve Jobs theatre. They announced several new products such as what seems to be Apple’s flagship device for health, the Apple Watch Series 4 with it’s new Watch OS 5 and the robust iOS 12 for their other mobile devices. As well as enhanced security and performance, there will be several new features to come to iPhone and iPad, such as Siri Shortcuts, group Facetime, stacked notifications and more.
DrChrono has been anticipating this update and has already become compatible with iOS 12 after version 10.0.92 for DrChrono (released a couple weeks ago) and version 2.7.3 of the Check-in app! Stay tuned for new powerful features made possible through iOS 12 in DrChrono EHR!
Our platform already allows you to reach your patients through automated email and call appointment reminders. Mobile push notifications can substantially improve patient engagement, and most people are on their phones already, so we’re bringing push notifications for our providers as another way to keep an open line with patients outside of the office.
Our latest push notifications for OnPatient can help you send important reminders to your patients where they will actually see it, on their mobile device lock screen. Send timed notifications for scheduled appointments, notifications for new messages from you in their patient portal and more. Notification settings and more notifications will come in later releases.
New token provider for Electronic Prescribing of Controlled Substances (EPCS)
Effective September 30th, 2018, Symantec will be retiring Norton VIP Access and will no longer be providing token authentication services for providers. For our providers to continue being able to use EPCS in DrChrono EHR, we have partnered with Duo Mobile, a new securities company that is trusted by the likes of Cisco for their suite of cloud products. Duo Mobile has unique one-tap authentication that makes it even easier for our providers to perform EPCS tasks within DrChrono EHR.
