We’ve added a highly requested feature- an address book (contact list) and referrals! To add to your Referral Contacts, go to the envelope in the upper right hand corner, and then the Contacts screen. To create a new contact, choose New.
Here, you’ll be able to add the name, email, phone number, fax number, and specialty of your contact. You’ll also be able to see how many referrals you’ve sent to them. You can search your list of contacts at any time, you can edit them by selecting the pencil icon, and you can delete them by selecting the red x icon.
Once you have your contacts inputted, you can create referrals. Select the Outbound Referrals to the left of your screen, and you’ll be taken to a page where you’ll be able to view all of your outgoing referrals. to create a new referral, select New Referral at the top of the screen.
Next, you’ll be prompted to select a patient; a recently seen patients section will populate and you’ll also be able to search for patients.
From here, you will be prompted to fill out the referral fields. The To field will search and populate with contacts from your Address book as you type the name of the specialist you’re referring to. The patient’s demographic information, including insurance, will automatically populate. The Medications and Allergies sections will be pre-populated as well. You will have the ability to add Procedures and Diagnoses codes, as well as special instructions. Once you’ve completed the necessary information, you’ll select save at the bottom of the screen.
You can print a copy of the referral for the patient or add a note to the referral. You can then fax the referral to the specialist. Now, you’re able to keep track of how many patients you refer to each specialist, and have an electronic record of the referral. As always, let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions!
