iPad Mini EMR in Healthcare, Fits into a Lab Coat Pocket

Today on October 23rd the iPad Mini was officially announced. It will be released on November 3rd. The iPad Mini is 7.9” and will fit in a lab coat pocket! And the big question is will it be able to run our iPad EHR and our patient check in iPad app onpatient. The answer is … yes!
The iPad Mini has Ultrafast Wifi, 10 hours of battery life, Facetime HD, its 23% thinner then the iPad, and 53% lighter then the iPad.
This is the perfect companion for doing rounds in a lab coat.
You can get your iPad Mini November 2rd, pre-orders begin this Friday, October 26.
A 16GB version will cost you $329. A 32GB model will set you back $429. The 64GB model is $529. The devices will be sold through the Apple Online Store, Apple’s retail stores, and select Apple Authorized Resellers.
The iPad mini with Wi-Fi + Cellular models will start shipping a couple weeks later, beginning in the U.S. on AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon. Pricing for these models are as follows: $459 for the 16GB model, $559 for the 32GB model and $659 (US) for the 64GB model.
Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing mentioned –

One thing to note is that it uses the new Lighting connection, the same one that the iPhone 5 uses.
